About Us

WELCOME! SunCommon is a Benefit Corporation that is fueled by the belief that everyone has the right to a healthy environment and safer world.  So we’re tearing down the barriers that have made renewable energy inaccessible with the goal of repowering our communities one home, school, and business at a time.  To this end, we make going solar easy and affordable so that everyone can take part in creating a healthier environment.

In May 2018, SunCommon and Hudson Solar joined forces for good – to build even more residential, commercial and community solar. This partnership will accelerate our growth, creating new clean energy jobs and investment in Vermont and the greater Hudson Valley region. Organized as a Benefit Corporation and certified as a BCorp – we are committed to the triple bottom line of People, Planet and Profit.

We use an innovative community organizing approach to marketing, via high-touch, personal interactions with home and business owners to help craft the solar solution just right for them.    We do all the legwork to put together a total package that’s easy for the customer. We pick the best equipment manufacturers, line up the finest installers and arrange attractive financing that saves our customers real money – all while doing right by the planet. Our team manages solar projects soup-to-nuts to ensure solar is accessible to all.

We feel huge responsibility to succeed, to honor our triple bottom line commitments to people (our employees and their families, our Customers and residents of the communities where we do business), planet (our beloved local rivers, mountains and forests and the broader globe, given climate change) and profit (providing capital to grow, revenue to share among our employees, and a reasonable return to our investors). This is important work, and we have fun doing it.  Innovation is fun stuff.

Yes, of course we are an equal opportunity employer and we don’t tolerate harassment or other discrimination based upon sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, caregiver status, pregnancy, military or veteran status, race, color, religion, national origin, place of birth, ancestry, age, physical or mental disability, genetic information or any other legally protected status.

We encourage applications from women, people of color, ethnic minorities, Spanish speaking individuals and persons with disabilities.

We celebrate creativity, cross-function collaboration, high energy, hard work, good play, deep networking and with the acknowledgement that we’ll each make mistakes and learn from them.  We know success.  We know fun.  Come do both with us.

Solar Community Organizer

Location: Rhinebeck Office | Rhinebeck, NY | Marketing-res
Job Status: Full-Time

Job Description

Another delight of the Organizer’s role is work with our customers. In addition the Organizer works with local media to keep solar and SunCommon in the news, and contributes to our social media presence.
